State of the Sim
[11:41 AM] Torin Golding: So I'll give you a quick overview of the state of the sims for this first part of MMXI

[11:41 AM] Torin Golding: Overall everything is quite positive....
[11:42 AM] Torin Golding: The Subura is fully rented more or less (there may be one vacancy after today we hopefully can fill soon)
[11:42 AM] Torin Golding: And the new portus in Ostia means we are more or less full in Transtiberim (one Subura size plot for a group is still available).
[11:43 AM] Torin Golding: And all Maritima islands are inhabited
[11:43 AM] Ragark Fiertze: \o/

[11:43 AM] Torin Golding: And the new isle ROMA Diania is proceeding very nicely

[11:44 AM] Torin Golding: The small area of concern remains the need to bring more traffic to ROMA and, more importantly, attract good Citizens who stay and become members of the community....
[11:45 AM] Torin Golding: The management team has been talking about this and we have some ideas, some of which we'll mention here today....
[11:46 AM] Torin Golding: And while this question of new traffic is a concern in SL overall, we are in a pretty ok position, though we hope to increase the new Citizen numbers in quarter one of MMXI
[11:47 AM] Torin Golding: One of the new initatives is the new freebie program in the Markets, organized by Alekso Minotaur....
[11:47 AM] Torin Golding: We are finally able to annouce that formally this weekend. Several merchants have given some freebies tailored to ROMA.....

[11:50 AM] Torin Golding: A traffic increasing idea is more live concerts in the future, with a specia exclusive prize hunt after each concert (so pepole get out and explore the sims after the music is over)

[11:51 AM] Torin Golding: So Alekso as Market Manager will be organizing more things like that in the near future, and will work with the ROMA merchants we have now to offer more prizes (and hopefully get more traffic going to their stalls in the Market and Macellum)

[11:54 AM] Torin Golding: The Maritima docks have been relocated to the northern side of the sim to accomodate the new Ostia harbor...
[11:55 AM] Torin Golding: And the plaza is getting a slight tweaking with a new subterranean entrance to the Circus Maximus
[11:55 AM] Zelda Walpole: Yay!
[11:56 AM] Torin Golding: It is not yet completed fully but will give a little bit more character to the market entrance area of the plaza (and help give some level changes to break up all the straight lines)

[11:57 AM] Torin Golding: That is all i have to say really. We have some other ideas and initatives planned but they're just at the planning stages now so I'd rather leave a discussion of them to next Assembly meeting, to give the Managers and group officers some time to organize.

Let me have a think about how we could accomodate that without it looking too commercial (I really dislike in other sims where the advertising is garish and in your face as soon as you teleport in). But I might be able to make a directory near each market's entrance or something like that. Our merchants are (thankfully) pretty stationary so there wouldn't be much updating needed.

If the winner likes it, there might be some word-of-mouth advertising benefit for the merchant.
