  • May 6 — Torin and the SL Humanism group host a "National Day of Reason" event in the Linda sim version of ROMA. Pictures from the event here.
"Suggested by member William Gide, the event coincided with the National Day of Reason (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_day_of_reason). Torin and William spoke at the arena on mainland ROMA on several topics. It was very well attended. The owner of Support For Healing Island, Zafu Diamond, very kindly offered the use of his island for a post-event party where attendees relaxed on the shores of the land’s central lake."

  • October 15 — The estate of ROMA is opened to the public.

November

  • November 11 — The first social event in ROMA is held, a small gathering of those who might be interested in Roman roleplay in the sim. Torin decorates the fort for the event. Pictures here.
  • November 11 — Torin founds the ROMA Messageboard at http://romacitizens.proboards.com/.
  • November 16 — Colonia Nova, the Ancient Roman themed sim for the Confederation of Democratic Simulators, opens to the public. Torin had earlier in the year been approached by someone involved in getting that sim together to see if he was interested in helping to build it. Instead, Torin decided to push forward with opening ROMA as its own sim.

December

  • December 7 — Legion XIII gets official recognition from the Emperor to operate in ROMA as a Citizen-Run group. It must have been around this date that the first Legion XIII group is founded.
  • December 12 — The "Bread and Circuses Bakery" opens in ROMA, originally as part of the precursor to the Tabularium. Torin sells Roman themed food items in it.
  • December 17— ROMA Saturnalia Festival 06 Day One
  • December 18 — ROMA Saturnalia Festival 06 Day Two
  • December 18 - The Legion begins to distribute armor for its soldiers and Amazons:
"I cannot distribute the new armor as Group notices are non-functional. Please contact me personally to get your kit. Attention Amazons : I have the first version of your lorica ready, but need volunteers to try it out. Praefectus Vectus"
